Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Staff CAD Designer for a remote US-based role to translate advanced engineering concepts into production-ready mechanical designs for complex electromechanical products. You will collaborate with mechanical engineering, prototyping, and supplier teams to improve manufacturability and support high-quality volume fabrication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or AS in Mechanical Design or related field.
• 7+ years CAD design experience in robotics, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation.
• Expert CATIA proficiency and strong DFM/DFA knowledge.
• Experience with PLM systems, Arena preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to resolve design challenges and create production-ready CAD models.
• Build and maintain master skeleton models and complex packaging layouts for electromechanical subsystems.
• Design intricate mechanical components and assemblies with a focus on structural enclosures and castings.
• Generate 2D engineering drawing packages compliant with ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards.
• Route complex wire harnesses and cables within constrained spaces alongside engineering teams.
• Partner with prototype shops and suppliers to optimize designs for manufacturability.
• Manage multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs) and author Engineering Change Orders (ECOs)

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Senior Staff CAD Designer to join the team of a leader in the Enterprise Technology space.

This role will play a key part in translating advanced engineering concepts into production-ready mechanical designs for complex electromechanical products. You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineering, prototype, and supplier partners to solve packaging challenges, improve manufacturability, and support high-quality volume fabrication. The work will center on detailed CAD development, drawing release, and change management across multiple levels of the product structure.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $115,000 – $130,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with mechanical engineering teams to resolve design challenges and create production-ready CAD models
• Build and maintain master skeleton models and complex packaging layouts for electromechanical subsystems

Qualifications

• AS or BS in Mechanical Design Technology, CAD, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
• 7+ years of mechanical CAD design experience in robotics, consumer electronics, automotive, aerospace, or industrial automation
• Expert-level proficiency in CATIA
• Deep knowledge of DFM/DFA for volume fabrication processes
• Extensive experience with PLM systems, with Arena preferred
