Job summary

Aqua Finance, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant, Structured Finance to manage complex loan accounting, securitizations, and related financial reporting. This role requires strong GAAP knowledge, CPA credentials, and significant experience in financial services.

The position collaborates with Operations, Treasury, and Finance to ensure accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and timely close processes in a growing national company.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or commensurate work experience required.
• CPA certification required.
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience or 3 years in public accounting preferred.
• Experience in financial services, specifically loan accounting and loan sales.

Responsibilities

• Lead accounting for securitizations, loan sales, and lines of credit with accurate recording and reporting.
• Analyze complex financial transactions and communicate implications to stakeholders.
• Research GAAP and new standards to determine accounting treatment.
• Develop and maintain internal controls to mitigate risks.
• Coordinate with Operations, Treasury, and Finance for technical accounting guidance.
• Prepare and review weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting.
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
• Coordinate external audits and respond to requests.
• Analyze large datasets to identify discrepancies and trends.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and efficiency.
