The ideal candidate brings 5-7 years of accounting experience, GAAP proficiency, and strong Excel skills. The position supports budgeting, period-end close, and financial statement preparation, with a mix of remote and on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Record and apply customer payments to open invoices and assist with collections outreach.
• Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments and maintain records.
• Reconcile credit card transactions and assist with bank reconciliations.
• Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems; manage petty cash and intercompany transactions.
• Assist in preparing quarterly, mid-year, and year-end financial statements.

Essential Functions

Accounts Receivable

• Record and apply customer payments to open invoices.
• Work with customers and the Billing team to resolve discrepancies.
• Send updated AR statements and assist with collections outreach via email and/or phone.
• Maintain organized customer records and AR reports.

Accounts Payable

• Process vendor invoices, ensure timely payments, and maintain accurate records.
• Coordinate with Purchasing Department on invoices, purchase orders, and credit card receipts.
• Resolve billing discrepancies with vendors.
• Assist with budget preparation and vendor payments (via checks, ACH, wires).

General Accounting Support

• Reconcile credit card transactions.
• Assist with bank statement reconciliations to ensure accuracy.
• Enter financial data accurately into accounting systems.
• Manage petty cash accounts and payments.
• Assist with intercompany transactions and reconciliations.
• Assist in preparing quarterly, mid-year, and year-end financial statements.

Work Environment

This position operates in a professional office and jobsite setting. The position requires extensive client interfacing and requires rotation between remote and physical work environment. This position uses standard office equipment.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, ascend/descend and traverse. The position also requires frequent use of computers and other office productivity machinery. At times, duties may involve transporting items of appx. 25 pounds and working around outdoor weather conditions. The position is expected to require prolonged periods of communication, perceiving, and expressing oneself.
