Job summary

FastTrack Staffing in Daytona Beach, FL seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to manage complex accounting functions, ensure regulatory compliance, and mentor junior staff. The role emphasizes financial integrity, accurate reporting, and strong internal controls in both corporate and nonprofit contexts.

You will lead month-end close, prepare GAAP-based statements, perform reconciliations, support audits, and provide analytical insights to drive financial decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited program.
• CPA preferred or in the process of obtaining.
• Minimum of five years of professional experience in public accounting or corporate accounting.
• Strong GAAP knowledge; IFRS familiarity is a plus.
• Solid SOX compliance and internal controls understanding.
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Sage, Xero, QuickBooks or similar.
• LIHTC, Wills & Trusts, or governmental accounting experience is advantageous.
• Excellent analytical skills and ability to mentor staff.

Responsibilities

• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements (balance sheet, income, cash flow, and equity).
• Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closes with timelines and deliverables.
• Prepare journal entries and maintain documentation.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations for accuracy.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support annual audits with schedules and responses.
• Maintain internal controls and company policies.
• Provide financial insights to support decisions.
• Prepare routine and ad hoc reports for management.
• Perform bank reconciliations and inventory accounting support.
• Review HOA financials and assist with related inquiries.
• Collaborate across departments to meet financial objectives.
• Identify process improvements and efficiencies.
• Communicate findings to Controller/CFO.
• Carry out other duties as assigned.
