Job summary

Cavco Industries, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to safeguard financial records and ensure timely GAAP reporting. This role owns complex accounting activities, prepares journal entries, and supports reserve calculations while partnering with stakeholders to improve controls and processes.

The position requires solid judgment, analytical skills, and the ability to manage priorities in a deadline-driven environment, with interactions across internal teams and auditors as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience (corporate and public preferred).
• CPA preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of GAAP, internal controls and financial reporting.
• Experience with ERP systems and large data sets; manufacturing ERP preferred.
• Proficient in Excel and strong written/verbal communication.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
• Valid driver’s license for occasional travel.

Responsibilities

• Own key components of month-end, quarterly and annual close processes.
• Prepare, analyze and post complex journal entries with proper support and GAAP compliance.
• Prepare and review complex account reconciliations and identify items for improvement.
• Assist with reserve calculations, accruals and other judgment-based areas.
• Develop analyses explaining financial activity, variances, and trends for management.
• Prepare balance sheet and income statement fluctuations for management review.
• Support accounting policy documentation and technical accounting research.
• Lead in streamlining banking and reconciliations processes.
• Manage fixed asset accounting including additions, disposals, depreciation, and documentation.
• Prepare audit support and interact with auditors.
