Job summary

CDS Life Transitions, Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to maintain accurate financial records, prepare reports, and support management with budgeting and forecasting.

You will work with the accounting team to implement internal controls, assist external audits, and contribute to process improvements. Candidates should have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5+ years of accounting experience, with strong Excel skills and month-end close expertise.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of work experience in Accounting.
• Excellent Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP and Pivot Tables.
• Month-end close experience.
• Extensive experience in account reconciliations.
• Budgeting and forecasting experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead finance operations including close of month end and reporting packages for leadership and committees.
• Complete high risk recurring monthly journal entries for each month end.
• Identify, research, and report variances.
• Supervise Staff Accountants and review monthly entries and reconciliations.
• Ensure month-end close by the 7th business day of the following month.
• Provide ongoing assessment of close processes to improve efficiency.
• Present results and variance explanations to department leads.
