Job summary

Vaco by Highspring seeks a Senior Accountant to join its corporate accounting team in Blue Ash, OH. The role reports to the Director of Financial Shared Services and supports daily accounting activities, the month-end close, financial reporting, reconciliations, and related initiatives.

The ideal candidate will have 6–8+ years of accounting experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with a large ERP system (JD Edwards or Oracle).

Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting activities and ensure accuracy of financial transactions and reporting.
• Coordinate month-end close activities and meet deadlines.
• Prepare and review general ledger reconciliations.
• Assist with consolidation of month-end financial results.
• Support intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed asset accounting including book and tax reporting.
• Assist with compensation, benefits, accruals, and related accounting activities.
• Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and monthly reporting packages.
• Partner with accounting, FP&A, and operations teams to analyze financial information.
• Support external audits and prepare schedules for reviews and audits.
• Assist with SOX compliance and remediation of gaps.
• Monitor and resolve finance-related ERP issues.
• Assist with SEC filings (10-Q and 10-K) as needed.

Position Overview

Senior Accountant

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join a corporate accounting team in Blue Ash. This role reports to the Director of Financial Shared Services and will support daily accounting activities, the month-end close process, financial reporting, reconciliations, and various corporate accounting initiatives.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with strong attention to detail, excellent Excel skills, and experience working with a large ERP system. Experience in a manufacturing or public-company environment is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting activities and ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial transactions and reporting.
• Coordinate and complete various month-end close activities while meeting strict deadlines.
• Prepare and review general ledger account reconciliations.
• Support the consolidation of month-end financial results.
• Assist with intercompany accounting, eliminations, and reconciliations.
• Maintain and support fixed asset accounting, including book and tax reporting.
• Assist with compensation, benefits, accruals, and related accounting activities.
• Support preparation of consolidated financial statements and monthly reporting packages.
• Partner with accounting, FP&A, and operational teams to gather and analyze financial information.
• Support external audits and prepare schedules for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
• Assist with internal controls and SOX compliance, including remediation of identified gaps.
• Help monitor and resolve finance-related issues within the company's ERP system.
• Support the preparation of SEC filings, including 10-Q and 10-K filings, as needed.
• Serve as the administrator for the company's Concur travel and expense reporting system.
• Participate in process improvement, automation, standardization, and other special projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• 6-8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Experience with a large ERP system required; JD Edwards or Oracle preferred.
• Strong Excel skills required.
• Experience with fixed asset accounting is a plus.
• Financial Shared Services experience preferred.
• Manufacturing experience is a plus.
• Public accounting experience is a plus.
• Active CPA license preferred, but not required.
• Experience preparing financial statements for a publicly traded company preferred.
• Experience with process documentation and flowcharting is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational and analytical abilities.
