Job summary

One World Ventures is seeking a Senior Accountant to support multi-entity financial statements, manage month-end close, and assist with analyses, reporting, and audits. The position covers journal entries, reconciliations, and coordination with AR/AP teams to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

The successful candidate will have a accounting or finance degree, 2–5 years of experience (including public accounting), strong GAAP knowledge, and proficiency with MS Office and accounting software.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the related area.
  • 2+ years of public accounting experience.
  • Understanding of GAAP.
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook or similar programs.
  • Experience in a multi-entity environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Perform accounting functions including revenue, cost of goods sold, cash, A/R and A/P, and bad debt allowance on a monthly basis.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including Budget vs. Actual variance reports.
  • Test and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Responsible for month end workbook reconciliations for assigned entities and P&L analysis for assigned entities.
  • Responsible for sales tax filings for assigned entities.
  • Serve as contact person for general manager and operation personnel and provide timely and accurate responses to finance and accounting related questions.
  • Serve as integrated teammate with the AR and AP team members working on assigned entities.
  • Coordinate and resolve various issues with bank such as cleared check differences, bank fee anomalies, targeted balance calculations and enhancements to online services.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulatory guidance and internal policies & procedures.
  • Document policies, procedures and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
  • Maintain project log for Senior Accountant position.
  • Contribute to department and organization special projects as assigned.
  • Responsible for exhibiting professional behavior with both internal/external business associates that reflects positively on the company.

Job description

Summary/Objective

While working in a multi-entity environment, assist with financial statement preparation, weekly management reporting, inventory & cost of goods sold analysis, month-end close, bank reconciling items, etc. Prepare journal entries and reconciliations for monthly general ledger close. Assist in the preparation and distribution of monthly financial statements. Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Provide assistance to manager with external audits. Assist with accounting related and general ledger projects. Assist with special projects assigned by management.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Perform accounting functions as assigned including, revenue, cost of goods sold, cash, cash applied to A/R and A/P, and bad debt allowance on a monthly basis. Back-up month-end duties assigned to other Senior Accountants.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly and monthly management reports and accompanying schedules, worksheets and narratives, including “Budget vs. Actual” variance reports. Provide follow-up and documentation of significant variances.
  • Test and receive final approval for system reports required for management, financial reporting and general ledger reconciliations.
  • Responsible for month end workbook reconciliations for assigned entities and P&L analysis for assigned entities.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
  • Bachelor's degree of accounting or finance
  • 2-5 years’ experience in the related area or
  • 2 or more years of public accounting experience
  • Thorough understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Strong analytical and accounting skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced experience with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook or similar programs.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of major accounting software packages for both general ledger and statutory accounting.
  • Experience in a multi-entity environment.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team and take on new tasks with high level of difficulty.
