Job description

About this role

We are seeking a self-motivated senior staff accountant to join our growing and high-performing accounting team. In this critical role, you’ll focus on maintaining the general ledger (GL), ensuring accuracy, and supporting a wide range of accounting activities across the company. As a key member of the team, you will play an instrumental role in scaling our accounting processes and systems while wearing many hats in a startup environment.

This is a hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves role where your initiative and ability to work in a fast-paced environment will be essential to the success of the accounting department and the company’s growth. You’ll need to be a proactive self-starter who thrives in a flexible, ever-evolving environment.

????️ Your responsibilities

General ledger management:

  • Perform month-end close procedures, account reconciliations, while investigating and resolving variances in ledger accounts

  • Compile and analyze information to prepare journal entries in compliance with GAAP

  • Process operational transactions for business accruals, bank reconciliation, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and leases

  • Active involvement in the financial close process-with an emphasis in intercompany transactions, and currency revaluation

  • Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and flux analyses

  • Assist with audits, including preparing work papers for the auditors and analyzing data. Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance

  • Participate in the AP process such as review of Purchase orders, Invoices and other supporting evidence

  • Participate in the payroll related accounting, reconciliations and accruals

  • Participate in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives

  • Partner closely with various business units such as Purchasing team and Facilities team to review, analyze, and develop processes to support accounting processes

  • Collaborate with various departments, including Treasury, FP&A, payroll, accounts payable teams, and business partners for proper recording of transactions

  • Active participant in delivering on accounting and organization goals

Process improvement:

  • Identify opportunities for improvements in accounting procedures and contribute to the implementation of new tools or processes that improve efficiency and scalability

  • Participate in special projects related to scaling the finance function, such as system upgrades, process automation and setting accounting policy and procedures

Is this you?

Experience:

  • 4-6 years of experience in accounting, preferably in a fast-paced environment or a startup

  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting

  • Experience managing the general ledger, month-end close, and reconciliations

Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

  • Proficiency in accounting software (NetSuite is preferred) and Excel (advanced skills preferred)

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment

  • Experience in US tax filings is a plus

  • Experience in Ramp or Coupa Platform is a plus
