Job summary

EnviroLogix Inc. is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to own core accounting processes and guide remote shared-service personnel supporting AP/AR. The role involves month-end activities, process improvement, and potential progression toward people-management roles.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review accounting records including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, reconciliations and related supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial statements and analyses in accordance with applicable accounting standards and internal policies.
• Perform bank, general ledger and other reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and resolve.
• Support internal controls and audit requirements.
• Collaborate with the global finance team to complete accounting activities, projects, and reporting.
• Coordinate AP/AR activities by tracking priorities, deadlines and open issues; follow up with shared-service personnel and escalate delays.
• Review supplier statements and support payment-term initiatives; address supplier-account issues.
• Establish and maintain KPI reporting and visual management for accounting processes.
• Provide coverage for international accounting processes as needed.
• Develop, update and maintain SOPs for owned Finance processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, automation and controls.
• Communicate financial information clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide training and coaching to junior Finance staff and remote personnel.
• Support the transition of finance processes into IFS, including testing and training.

Job Description

General Summary

Envirologix is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to own and improve core accounting processes while providing functional coordination and day-to-day guidance to remote shared-service personnel supporting Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable. The role will perform and review accounting activities, support month-end and audit requirements, monitor priorities and deadlines, identify issues, and elevate performance or capacity concerns to the appropriate manager. This position will not initially have direct supervisory responsibility.

Over time, the role is expected to expand into broader leadership of selected Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and may develop toward formal people-management or Accounting Manager responsibilities based on business needs and demonstrated performance.

Responsibilities Include

• Prepare and review accounting records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, reconciliations and related supporting documentation.
• Prepare financial statements and other financial analyses in accordance with applicable accounting standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies.
• Perform bank, general ledger, and other account reconciliations; investigate discrepancies and ensure a timely resolution.
• Support compliance with internal controls, and both internal and external audit requirements.
• Collaborate with the global finance team to complete accounting activities, projects, and reporting requirements accurately and on a structured cadence.
• Coordinate assigned Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable activities by tracking priorities, deadlines, dependencies, and open issues; follow up with shared-service personnel and elevate delays or recurring quality concerns to the appropriate manager.
• Review supplier statements, support payment-term initiatives, and elevate supplier-account issues.
• Establish and maintain key performance indicator reporting and visual management for assigned accounting and shared-service processes.
• Provide coverage and support for international accounting team and processes as needed.
• Develop, update, and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for owned Finance and Accounting processes.
• Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, automation, and process control.
• Communicate financial information clearly and professionally to internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Provide training, coaching, and process guidance to junior Finance staff and remote shared-service personnel as appropriate.
• Support the implementation and transition of finance processes into IFS, including testing, documentation, training, and issue resolution. Support the Accounting Manager and Director of Finance with additional accounting activities and special projects as assigned.

Skills Required

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to learn and effectively use financial systems, including IFS, Vena, DocAlpha, banking platforms, and invoice-processing tools.
• Experience preparing financial reports and performing general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations along with resolving reconciling items.
• Ability to communicate issues, risks and recommendations clearly.
• Excellent analytical skills, high attention to detail, and a commitment to accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, follow up on commitments, and hold process owners accountable without relying on formal supervisory authority.

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) preferably in a multi-entity environment.
• Experience coordinating remote or offshore accounting personnel preferred.
• Prior functional leadership, mentoring, project leadership and/or informal accountability experience preferred.

The anticipated range for this position is: $75,000 - $95,000 annually. Salary is determined in good faith based on several factors including education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, requirements of the position, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
