Qualifications

  • Real estate accounting experience is a plus.
  • Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar accounting systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

  • General Ledger & Month-End Close: prepare entries, maintain GL accounts, support close processes.
  • Budget & Expense Management: assist with budgeting, variance analyses, and cost tracking.
  • Audit & Compliance: assist with audits and prepare supporting schedules.
  • Process Improvement: help enhance procedures and controls across accounting processes.

Atlantic Group is seeking a Staff Accountant in Philadelphia, PA on behalf of our client, a dynamic, multi-entity real estate organization. The Opportunity

As a Staff Accountant, you’ll play an important role in supporting the financial operations of a high-performing division. You’ll partner with accounting leadership and operational teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, timely reconciliations, and efficient accounting processes across multiple entities.

What You’ll Do

General Ledger & Month-End Close

  • Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger accounts.
  • Support monthly close activities and ensure accounting deadlines are met.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
  • Review financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency.
  • Assist with monthly financial statements and supporting accounting reports.
  • Analyze financial results and provide insight into revenue and expense activity.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance reporting.

Budget & Expense Management

  • Assist with budget tracking and variance analysis.
  • Review revenue and expenses to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities.
  • Support operational teams with financial and accounting information.

Audit & Compliance

  • Assist with internal and external audit preparation.
  • Compile schedules, documentation, and supporting materials for auditors.
  • Ensure accounting activities are performed in accordance with GAAP and established procedures.

Process Improvement

  • Help enhance accounting procedures, reporting processes, and financial systems.
  • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and controls.
  • Contribute to a continuously improving accounting environment.

What We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • 1–3 years of general ledger accounting, corporate accounting, or bookkeeping experience
  • Solid understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and general accounting principles
  • Real estate accounting experience is preferred
  • Experience with Yardi, RealPage, or similar accounting systems is a plus
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • A proactive, collaborative approach and desire to grow professionally
