Job summary

Jordan Sitter Associates in Newnan, GA is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of accounting experience, strong analytical skills, and proven experience with month-end closes, reconciliations, and financial reporting.

You will collaborate with department managers, support audits, and contribute to process improvements across the accounting function. Experience with MS Dynamics 365 and advanced Excel is a plus; a CPA is desirable.

Qualifications

• Responsible for assigned department reporting; account reconciliations review; resolving revenue, COGS, and SGA discrepancies.
• Prepare assigned external and internal audit schedules.
• Analyze monthly financial results.
• Perform monthly variance analysis of actuals, budgets and forecast

SUMMARY

A successful Senior Staff Accountant combines excellent analytical skills with a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to assist the accounting department with the day-to-day operation.

DUTIES

• Prepare ad-hoc financial analysis as requested.
• Monthly closing which includes determining the assigned departments related accruals and provisional journal entries.
• Report monthly and quarterly company results to parent company using proprietary software.
• Provide support to department managers in resolving accounting or process discrepancies.
• Determine inventory obsolescence.

REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, or finance CPA, budgeting/forecasting and manufacturing accounting is a plus.
• 5+ years of accounting experience with supervisory experience in a mid-size company and/or related audit experience.
• Advanced Excel skills is a must (pivot tables, look-ups, conditional formatting, advanced formulas, etc) Experience with MS Dynamics 365 is a plus Budgeting and Forecasting experience is a plus.
