Job summary

HavenRise Academy of Jacksonville, FL, seeks a Senior Accountant to own day-to-day accounting and help build scalable processes. You will partner with the CFO/CEO to drive financial operations, reporting, and budgeting for a mission-driven behavioral health provider.

Responsibilities include GL, reconciliations, cash, A/P, payroll, revenue, and close processes. Experience with Sage Intacct and healthcare accounting is required; on-site/hybrid schedule with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
• At least 4 years of accounting experience with full-cycle GL and month-end close.
• Hands-on Sage Intacct experience required.
• Healthcare accounting experience preferred, multi-site.
• Strong Excel skills and ability to handle data confidently.
• CPA, CPA licensure progress, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with Bill.com, Paylocity, Compass, KIPU or similar systems preferred.

• Prepare and maintain daily cash reporting.
• Manage accounts payable through Bill.com, vendor setup, coding, approvals, payments, and 1099 reporting.
• Record payroll-related entries using Paylocity data.
• Record revenue and AR with billing and EMR systems in collaboration with the billing team.
• Assist the CFO in preparing monthly financial statements and management reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, controls, and month-end close checklists.
• Support budgeting, audits, tax-related activities, and special projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and strengthen controls.

Senior Accountant – (Full-Time)

HavenRise Academy of Jacksonville provides compassionate, evidence-based mental health care for adolescents and their families. Through a collaborative and family-centered approach, we help young people find hope, build resilience, and develop the tools they need to thrive.

As HavenRise continues to grow, we are bringing our accounting function in-house and are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with our Chief Financial Officer and take ownership of key day-to-day accounting functions while helping develop strong financial processes and systems to support our continued growth.

Your Role

• Manage full-cycle accounting within Sage Intacct, including general ledger activity, journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end close.
• Prepare and maintain daily cash reporting.
• Manage accounts payable through Bill.com, including vendor setup, coding, approvals, payment runs, and 1099 reporting.
• Record payroll-related accounting entries using information from Paylocity.
• Record revenue and accounts receivable activity using information from our billing and electronic medical record systems in collaboration with the billing team.
• Assist the CFO in preparing monthly financial statements and other management and investor reporting.
• Develop and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, reconciliations, and month-end close checklists.
• Support the financial setup of new HavenRise locations within Sage Intacct as the organization expands.
• Assist with budgeting, audits, tax-related activities, and special projects.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiencies.
• Partner with leadership and operational teams to support accurate and informed financial decision-making.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $80,000 – $90,000 annually, commensurate with licensure, experience and qualifications.

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
• At least 4 years of accounting experience, including full-cycle general ledger accounting and month-end close.
• Hands-on Sage Intacct experience required.
• Healthcare accounting experience preferred, particularly multi-site within behavioral health, residential, or outpatient healthcare settings.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with financial data.
• Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and take ownership of responsibilities in a growing environment.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• CPA, progress toward CPA licensure, or MBA preferred.
• Experience with Bill.com, Paylocity, Compass, KIPU, or similar systems preferred.
• Multi-location or multi-entity accounting experience preferred.
• Experience within an investor-backed or private equity-supported organization is a plus.
