Working Solutions LLC, at the Jackson, Mississippi area, is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join the Finance and Accounting team. The role covers financial reporting, general ledger, month-end close, cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing operations.

You will prepare entries, reconcile ledgers, assist with statements, and support audits while collaborating with Operations, Purchasing, and other departments to ensure accurate financial information.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 3+ years accounting experience.
• Strong GL, journal entry, reconciliation and month-end close experience.
• Experience assisting with financial statements.
• Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience preferred.
• CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification, a plus.

Responsabilités

• Prepare and post journal entries including accruals, reclassifications, allocations, inventory, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany activity.
• Prepare general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation.
• Support entity-level and consolidated financial reporting and intercompany eliminations.
• Participate in month-end close and prepare supporting schedules and analyses.
• Perform manufacturing and cost accounting including product costs, material, labor, overhead, inventory, scrap, and variances.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and assist with physical inventory and cycle counts.
• Maintain fixed asset and lease accounting schedules.
• Analyze variances and assist with management reporting.
• Provide documentation for external audits and work with other departments to ensure timely financial information.
• Assist with improving accounting processes, internal controls, and system efficiencies.

A growing manufacturing organization in the metropolitan Jackson, Mississippi area is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join its Finance and Accounting team. This position will have broad responsibility across financial reporting, general ledger accounting, month-end close, cost accounting, inventory, and manufacturing operations.

Duties of the Position Include:

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, reclassifications, allocations, inventory, fixed assets, leases, and intercompany activity.
• Prepare general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statement preparation.
• Support entity-level and consolidated financial reporting, including intercompany reconciliations and elimination entries.
• Participate in month-end close and prepare supporting financial schedules and account analyses.
• Perform manufacturing and cost accounting, including product costs, material, labor, overhead, inventory, scrap, and production variances.
• Reconcile inventory accounts and assist with physical inventory and cycle-count processes.
• Maintain fixed asset and lease accounting schedules.
• Analyze financial and operational variances and assist with management reporting.
• Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for external audits.
• Work with Operations, Purchasing, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.
• Assist with improving accounting processes, financial reporting, internal controls, and system efficiencies.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience preferred.
• Strong general ledger, journal entry, reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
• Experience assisting with financial statement preparation.
• Manufacturing, inventory, or cost accounting experience preferred.
• Strong Excel and analytical skills.
• Experience with ERP or accounting systems.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities and reporting deadlines.
• CPA or CMA certification, or progress toward certification, is a plus.
