Job Overview

Under general direction of the Accounting Manager, this position is responsible for maintenance, reconciliation and review of general ledger accounts associated with assigned companies.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Job Functions:

  • Maintains monthly balance sheet reconciliations of assigned companies and monitor G&A accounts.
  • Prepares and monitor cash flow analysis for joint venture companies and prepare profit distribution.
  • Watches for employee termination and verify any outstanding balances.
  • Provides backup to other GL Technician positions during scheduled and unscheduled absences.
  • Asset Management for adding, disposing and transferring assets and research asset acquisitions to determine if they meet our capitalization policy.
  • Completes monthly prepaid and liability calculations.
  • Prepares bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares journal entries, monitor and process journal entries for prepaid accounts.
  • Reviews monthly trial balances for posting errors.
  • Researches, reviews, and reconciles for a variety of projects.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize work and able to handle potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with tact and diplomacy.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
  • Four (4) years’ General Ledger accounting experience.
  • Reconciliation experience.
  • Verifiable knowledge of credits and debits.
  • Experience preparing journal entries.
  • Intermediate skills working with Microsoft Excel and Word (or similar software).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general accounting practices including journal entries, reconciliations and good internal control practices.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level.
  • Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.

Preferred:

  • Oracle Fusion ERP.

Working Conditions:

  • Chugach Government Solutions’ Finance team has a fast paced, multi-tasking, customer service oriented office environment requiring a high degree of efficient and effective performance. Adaptability regarding schedule and task changes is necessary to accommodate changing priorities. Overtime may be required.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position requires a lot of sitting as well as the ability to crouch, bend, and lift items up to 25 lbs.
