Job summary

UHY Advisors' Resource Solutions Group is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant for a direct-hire role with an onsite start and hybrid flexibility after training. You will record transactions, reconcile accounts, and support monthly close while ensuring GAAP compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and four to five+ years of progressive accounting experience; CPA or MBA is preferred but not required. Strong Excel, ERP, and reporting tool skills are expected.

Qualifications

• Four to five or more years of progressive general accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and general ledger accounting experience.
• Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools; advanced Excel.
• Experience with large accounting ERP and dashboard tools; strong reconciliations and month-end close.

Responsibilities

• Record financial transactions and post journal entries for revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
• Perform bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly close activities and ensure financial records are complete and accurate.
• Review accounting activity, investigate discrepancies and variances, and provide insights to management.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and auditor responses.
• Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and applicable standards.
• Develop, update, and maintain SOPs and accounting documentation.
• Assist with reporting, analysis, and other general accounting projects.

A great UHY distribution client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant. The ideal candidate will have strong general accounting experience, advanced reconciliation and month-end close skills, and a solid understanding of GAAP.

The Senior Staff Accountant role is an onsite position with hybrid available after a training period. This is a direct hire position.

• Record financial transactions and post journal entries for revenue, expenses, assets, liabilities, and equity.
• Perform bank, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly close activities and ensure financial records are complete and accurate.
• Review accounting activity and investigate discrepancies, unusual transactions, and variances.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends and provide meaningful insights to management.
• Support external audits by preparing schedules, documentation, and responses to auditor requests.
• Ensure accounting activities comply with GAAP and applicable accounting standards and regulations.
• Review existing accounting processes and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Develop, update, and maintain standard operating procedures and accounting documentation.
• Assist with reporting, analysis, and other general accounting projects as needed.
• Maintain accurate, organized, and audit-ready financial records.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• CPA, MBA and/or public accounting experience preferred, but not required.
• Four to five or more years of progressive general accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting.
• Experience with accounting software and financial reporting tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• Experienced with large accounting ERP and dashboard tools.
