Qualifications

Senior Staff Accountant

Position Summary

Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to address complex development and manufacturing challenges.

The Senior Staff Accountant supporting Catalent's Greendale, IN (on-site) location will handle general accounting and finance duties. Responsibilities include maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the general ledger, reconciliations, documentation, performing monthly financial closing procedures, and ensuring accurate and timely financial statement preparation, presentation, and analysis. The Senior Staff Accountant reports to the Controller.

The Role

  • Ensure accuracy of accounting records in accordance with GAAP, company policies, and procedures.
  • Manage general accounting functions including recording accruals, reviewing and recording prepaids and amortizations, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
  • Track, compile, and record ASC606 Revenue Recognition monthly reconciliation.
  • Record and reconcile intercompany transactions and accounts.
  • Understand ASC842 lease accounting standards to ensure compliance.
  • Assist in monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages.
  • Support month-end reporting and ad hoc analysis.
  • Assist with internal and external audits and other accounting projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Candidate

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting required.
  • CMA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience, preferably in a SOX-compliant environment.
  • Strong knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Proficient in advanced Excel functions (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, formulas).
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk regularly, and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds.
