SUMMARY: As a key member of our accounting team, the Senior Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in driving the accuracy, efficiency, and integrity of our financial operations. This position is responsible for overseeing core accounting functions, including account reconciliations, month-end close processes, and streamlining financial reporting to support timely and accurate financial statements.

A primary focus of this role is on commission calculation and payroll reconciliation, ensuring precision and compliance in employee compensation. In addition, the Senior Staff Accountant will contribute to a variety of corporate accounting initiatives throughout the year, offering opportunities to lead process improvements and collaborate cross-functionally.

Essential Competencies And Responsibilities

• Prepares accurate and timely journal entries in alignment with the monthly close timeline
• Reconciles assigned general ledger accounts by established deadlines, ensuring accuracy and completeness
• Conducts financial analysis to explain monthly variances and support management insights
• Maintains commission schedules and sales representative records within the Xactly system
• Prepares monthly commission calculations and compiles payroll files for processing through ADP
• Ensures confidentiality of payroll data and verifies payroll accuracy in collaboration with the payroll department
• Responds to cross-functional information requests and provides clear, data-driven insights to internal stakeholders
• Assists with preparation of audit schedules for interim and annual audits
• Supports special projects and performs additional duties as assigned
• Ensures all work complies with ISO policies, standards, and procedures
  
  

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in Accounting; GAAP knowledge required
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office (Excel), accounting software and databases
• Excellent Time Management, Organization and Communication Skills
• Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
• Strong understanding in payroll reconciliations, benefits, and commission calculations
• Experience in maintaining commission payroll records
• Accuracy and attention to detail
  
  

Supervisory Responsibilities

• No direct supervisory responsibility. May perform team lead duties.
  
  

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
• 3+ years’ experience working in a similar position required
• Xactly Commission Calculation software and Epicor P21 experience a bonus, but not required
  
  

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

• CPA preferred but not required
