Job summary

Passero Associates in Rochester, NY is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. You will support general ledger accounting, monthly close, reconciliations, and financial reporting in a dynamic AEC environment.

Ideal candidates have a solid accounting foundation, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to the firm's ongoing success. CPA is preferred and experience with ERP systems is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• Minimum of three years in public accounting or corporate accounting, preferably in audit and assurance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account discrepancies.
• Support monthly and annual financial close processes and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Prepare financial analyses and supporting schedules for management, external auditors, and tax advisors.
• Maintain and enhance accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
• Assist with management reporting, financial analyses, and special projects as assigned.
• Prepare a limited number of monthly client invoices and coordinate with Project Managers as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiencies, streamline processes, and leverage technology.

Senior Staff Accountant

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually

Passero Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team in Rochester, NY. This role is responsible for supporting the company's accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger accounting, monthly and annual close processes, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or actively pursuing certification.
• Experience in professional services, architecture, engineering, or consulting environments.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with multi-entity accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
