Job summary

Passero Associates in Charlotte, NC seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports general ledger accounting, monthly and annual close, reconciliations, and financial analyses in a multi-entity environment.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in Accounting with at least three years in public or corporate accounting, strong GAAP knowledge, advanced Excel skills, and experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
• 3+ years in public or corporate accounting, preferably audits.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial statement prep.
• Experience with reconciliations, journal entries, and analysis.
• Advanced Excel and accounting software proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $95,000.00 Annually

Passero Associates is seeking an experienced Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role is responsible for supporting the company's accounting and financial reporting functions, including general ledger accounting, monthly and annual close processes, account reconciliations, financial analysis, and internal controls.

The ideal candidate will bring a strong accounting foundation, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while contributing to the ongoing success of the Finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, prepayments, and adjusting entries.
• Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate account discrepancies.
• Support monthly and annual financial close processes and preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements.
• Prepare financial analyses and supporting schedules for management, external auditors, and tax advisors.
• Maintain and enhance accounting procedures, internal controls, and financial reporting processes.
• Assist with management reporting, financial analyses, and special projects as assigned.
• Prepare a limited number of monthly client invoices and coordinate with Project Managers as needed.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting efficiencies, streamline processes, and leverage technology.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• Minimum of three years of experience in public accounting and/or a corporate accounting environment, preferably in audit and assurance.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial statement preparation.
• Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, and financial analysis.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA designation or actively pursuing certification.
• Experience in professional services, architecture, engineering, or consulting environments.
• Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint or similar ERP systems.
• Familiarity with multi-entity accounting, ASC 606 revenue recognition, and ASC 842 lease accounting.
