Summary –This position will support key accounting functions with a focus on ASC 606 revenue recognition, SEC reporting, and complex reconciliation. This role will play a critical part in preparing accurate financial statements and ensuring compliance with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), and internal controls.
Job Responsibilities – Activities:
Functions:
- Take ownership of core accounting processes
- Provide guidance to junior team members, and collaborate cross-functionally to drive process improvements and ensure timely, accurate reporting
- Prepare and review complex monthly journal entries, including those related to deferred revenue, leases, and other technical areas
- Perform and oversee account reconciliation and analysis for key balance sheet accounts such as accounts receivable, restricted cash, deferred revenue, inventory, and lease accounting
- Review and assess customer invoicing for proper sales tax application and manage the related accounting for accrued sales tax
- Review and reconcile inventory accounts, conduct audits when necessary, and review/update components costs
- Prepare and file multi-state sales tax returns in a timely and accurate manner
- Collaborate with the AR team to support collections, aging analysis, and customer communications
- Work with plant controller on cash flow forecasting
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger subsidiary records, including accounts receivable ledgers and external lease software systems
- Prepare detailed audit schedules for both quarterly reviews and annual audits
- Respond to auditor inquiries as needed.
- Support the company’s SOX compliance by preparing schedules and ensuring proper documentation of key controls
- Serve as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff; assist in training and reviewing their work when appropriate
- Participate in process improvement initiatives and take the lead on ad hoc projects and analyses to support the finance team’s goals

Education - Experience:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
- 3-5 years relevant accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842
Preferred:
- CPA or CPA track
- 3+years relevant accounting experience in a public company or public accounting environment
- Strong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and ASC 842
- Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley internal control frameworks
Required Skills, Competencies, Authorities and Training Needs:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, etc.) required
- Experience with Oracle ERP or similar systems strongly preferred
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
