Job summary

HHM Hotels in Camp Hill, PA seeks a Senior Staff Accountant to manage journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly financial reporting for a group of hotels. You will ensure adherence to accounting policies and internal controls.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review ledger account reconciliations, including bank, prepaid assets, liabilities and credit cards.
• Monitor coding to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to internal controls as directed by Sarbanes-Oxley narratives, including net revenue testing and reconciliations.
• Prepare and/or review general ledger entries and monthly financial reports.
• Prepare or assist in schedules and supporting documents as required.
• Assist with other accounting team activities and communicate with staff.
• Follow EarthView sustainability guidelines and practice safe work habits.

Overview

Opportunity: Senior Staff Accountant

Manage accounting activities for a group of hotels preparing journal entries, detailed reports, account reconciliations, and other accounting functions in accordance with accounting policies and procedures.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare and review ledger account reconciliations including bank accounts, prepaid and other assets, liabilities and credit cards.
• Monitor coding to ensure accuracy.
• Adhere to internal financial controls as directed by the Company’s Sarbanes-Oxley narratives, including sales journal verifications, bank, general ledger and subsidiary ledger account reconciliations, revenue testing, and other tests and procedures as required.
• Prepare and/or review general ledger entries and present financial reports on a monthly basis.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of various schedules and supporting documents as required.
• Assist with other accounting team activities as required, communicating both verbally and in writing with team members and property-level associates.
• Follow sustainability guidelines and practices related to HHM’s EarthView program.
• Practice safe work habits.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.

Position Requirements

• Prior hospitality related experience preferred.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including intermediate skills with Excel.
• Ability to exercise judgment in the absence of the controller or assistant controller is required.

Work Environment and Context

• Requires sitting for extended periods, use of hands and fingers to operate computers and keyboards.
• May require extended work hours and work on holidays or weekends to meet key deadlines.
