Akima Facilities Operations (AFO) seeks a Site, Safety & Health Officer Lead to oversee safety leadership for CMS construction projects in Honolulu, HI and across Kauaʻi. You will enforce EM 385, AHAs, and site plans, conducting inspections and guiding contractor safety performance.

The role requires SSHO/Safety leadership experience on federal projects, OSHA 30, and strong communication and incident-investigation skills to manage multiple sites effectively.

Formación

• 10+ years construction safety experience, including significant Federal/DoD projects.
• Demonstrated SSHO or senior safety leadership experience on active construction sites.
• Strong knowledge of OSHA construction standards and EM 385 requirements.

Responsabilidades

• Serve as the senior CMS safety authority for Kauaʻi construction activities.
• Establish and oversee implementation of project safety and health requirements including APPs and AHAs.
• Conduct field inspections, audits, and verify contractor/subcontractor compliance.
• Identify, assess and mitigate hazards and risky activities on site.
• Lead incident, near-miss, and mishap investigations and corrective actions.
• Coordinate safety with Government, installation personnel, CMS team, and contractors.
• Provide safety leadership for high‑risk activities such as excavation and electrical work.
• Mentor SSHOs and safety personnel across the Kauaʻi portfolio.
