Job summary

VetJobs is seeking a Site, Safety & Health Officer Lead in Honolulu, HI to provide senior safety leadership for CMS construction projects across Kauaʻi and other sites. The role ensures compliance with OSHA, DoD, USACE/NAVFAC, and EM 385-1-1 while guiding field teams.

Minimum 10+ years in construction safety with federal/DoD exposure; OSHA 30; CSP/CHST preferred. Travel across geographically dispersed sites; on-site requirements in Hawaii.

Qualifications

• 10+ years construction safety experience, including significant Federal/DoD construction experience.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction certification required.
• CSP, CHST, or equivalent credential preferred.
• Experience overseeing prime contractors and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior CMS safety authority for Kauaʻi construction activities.
• Establish and oversee project safety and health requirements and site safety plans.
• Conduct field inspections and audits; verify contractor/subcontractor compliance.
• Lead incident, near-miss, and mishap investigations and corrective actions.
• Provide safety leadership for high-risk activities and coordinate with Government and contractors.
