Job summary

Seerist is seeking a Staff Site Reliability & Systems Architect to own reliability, performance, and cost for the commercial AWS platform. This senior role establishes our first dedicated SRE function and leads compliance across SOC-2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001, and related standards.

You will drive the accreditation path, architect a greenfield deployable environment (if funded), and partner with sponsors, assessors, and security leadership to earn an authority to operate.

Qualifications

• Active TS clearance is required and non-waivable.
• 10+ years in infrastructure, platform, SRE, or cloud architecture with senior ownership.
• Direct experience architecting/accrediting classified or high-side cloud environments.
• Strong command of accreditation processes and moving systems toward ATO.
• Deep hands-on AWS expertise on the commercial side, with defensible architecture decisions.
• Infrastructure as code fluency, ideally AWS CDK.
• Experience with modern observability and CI/CD: Datadog, GitHub Actions.
• Ability to work with government sponsors/assessors and write for that audience.

Responsibilities

• Own the AWS environment end to end: architecture, provisioning, scaling, operations.
• Define and defend reliability targets with SLOs and error budgets.
• Build self-healing infrastructure and automated remediation.
• Own infrastructure as code using AWS CDK; change review and rollback.
• Operate search and analytics with OpenSearch at scale.
• Strengthen CI/CD and observability with Datadog and GitHub Actions.
• Architect and evidence SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001 controls.
• Lead incident management and postmortems; close follow-up actions.
• Lead accreditation path toward an authority to operate with sponsors/assessors.
• Translate commercial product needs into a deployable, compliant environment.
• Be the technical face of the program to customer stakeholders.
