Job summary

GIPHY is seeking a highly experienced Site Reliability Engineer to design, build, operate, and evolve the infrastructure powering GIPHY, including cloud, Kubernetes, and CI/CD platforms. You will collaborate with development teams to improve reliability, scalability, and deployment safety across the organization.

You will respond to production incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, and drive improvements based on learnings.

Qualifications

• Expert-level knowledge of IaaS operations and IaC, especially Terraform and Atlantis.
• Extensive experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with AWS infrastructure (EKS, S3, EC2, VPC).
• Ability to design cost-effective, scalable solutions.
• Solid Linux, networking, and OS-level performance troubleshooting.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Github Actions) and deployment tooling (Helm, Spinnaker, ArgoCD).
• Proficiency in Python, Java, Go, or Rust.
• Experience with Datadog and CloudWatch for observability.
• Experience with agentic engineering and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities

• Operate and evolve GIPHY's cloud and CDN presence, ensuring resources are reliable, performant, scalable and cost-efficient.
• Continuously improve and optimize our CI/CD platform to enhance developer experience and deployment reliability.
• Drive the implementation of multi-region Kubernetes clusters while operating and improving our existing Kubernetes environments.
• Partner with other Engineering teams to troubleshoot complex production and infrastructure issues, taking a holistic view across our platforms to ensure reliability.
• Stay current with emerging technologies, particularly agentic development and AI-assisted engineering, and identify opportunities to incorporate them.
