Job summary

Sophos is seeking an experienced Manager, Software Engineering (SRE) to lead a team focused on reliability, scalability, and operational maturity of Sophos cloud services. You will guide a distributed team across the U.S.

and Canada, owning production reliability, incident response, observability, automation, and release discipline. The role combines hands-on SRE depth with leadership, strategy, and governance, mentoring engineers, shaping CI/CD pipelines, IaC practices, and cost-conscious cloud

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in SRE, DevOps, platform engineering, and cloud operations.
• Proven leadership of engineers, fostering accountability and continuous improvement.
• Strong knowledge of reliability engineering, incident management, and observability.

Responsibilities

• Lead sprint planning, backlog management, and delivery tracking for SRE and platform work.
• Guide incident response, post-incident reviews, and toil reduction.
• Partner with security, architecture, and product teams to improve shared tooling and workflows.
• Develop CI/CD, IaC, and automation strategies; manage cloud infrastructure and cost optimization.
• Mentor engineers and communicate progress to executives and stakeholders.
