Job summary

ISO New England is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to enhance reliability and observability across IT services. You will collaborate with infrastructure, platform, cyber security, and application teams to implement scalable automation and IaC practices.

The role emphasizes Splunk administration, Terraform-based deployments, and Python/PowerShell automation, with a focus on reducing toil and improving service resilience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, systems engineering, platform engineering, or IT operations.
• Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring and observability platforms. Hands-on Splunk preferred or strong willingness to develop expertise.
• Experience designing, deploying, or managing infrastructure using Terraform and Infrastructure as Code practices
• Strong scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies, including development of tooling and automation in production environments

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain observability, monitoring, logging, alerting, and telemetry platforms (e.g., Splunk, Dynatrace, PRTG, OpsGenie, StatusPage).
• Administer, maintain, automate, and improve the Splunk platform, including data onboarding, indexing, dashboards, and health monitoring.
• Develop automation workflows to improve platform reliability and reduce administrative overhead.
• Develop KPIs and dashboards for IT service health.
• Engineer resilience patterns including HA, DR, and automated failover.
• Collaborate with teams to plan resilience testing and disaster recovery validation.
• Leverage AI-assisted development tools to accelerate automation while ensuring reliability.
