Kong Inc. in the United States is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for Managed Gateways to architect and maintain the resilient, scalable infrastructure powering enterprise-grade managed services at global scale.

You'll lead platform and reliability engineering across multi-cloud environments, own incident response, implement automation, and drive SLOs/SLIs to ensure top-tier performance of the Kong Managed Gateways product.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience as a Site Reliability Engineer focused on highly available distributed systems.
• Deep expertise with Kubernetes and multi-cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, Azure).
• Strong proficiency in Golang or similar languages for automation.
• Proven track record in CI/CD and infrastructure-as-code tooling.
• In-depth knowledge of monitoring, logging, and alerting systems.

Responsibilities

• Own production reliability for the Managed Gateways platform from kickoff to live deployment.
• Lead and mentor a high-performing SRE team dedicated to Kong's Managed Gateways.
• Architect and implement scalable, fault-tolerant cloud-native systems.
• Define and track SLOs/SLIs and drive continuous service improvement.
• Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to ensure readiness for new features.
• Drive automation and self-service tooling for API gateway deployments.
