Job summary

Synapse Health, a healthcare tech platform, seeks a Sr. Site Reliability Engineer to drive platform modernization from Azure-based services to Kubernetes-driven microservices.

You will own reliability, performance, and scalability, partnering with engineering and data teams to embed best practices from day one. The role emphasizes containerized infrastructure, observability, and automation, with a focus on fast-paced growth in healthcare tech.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, or Infrastructure Engineering
• Hands-on experience in cloud environments (Azure preferred, AWS or GCP acceptable)
• Strong experience with Kubernetes in production environments
• Experience deploying and managing applications on Kubernetes using Helm
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform
• Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash)
• Experience with observability, monitoring, and incident response in production environments
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or GitLab CI/CD)
• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and cloud infrastructure components
• Familiarity with Azure Entra ID and workload identity

Responsibilities

• Migrate from legacy Azure services to containerized microservices-based systems
• Design, build, and scale Kubernetes-based infrastructure and tooling
• Partner with engineering for reliability and scalability from day one
• Drive standardization across infrastructure and reduce silos
• Implement cost optimization strategies for cloud usage
• Design, deploy, and manage secure networking and connectivity
• Design and maintain highly available, cloud-native systems
• Develop and evolve observability with monitoring, alerting, and logging
• Lead incident response and root-cause analysis
• Build/optimize CI/CD pipelines for fast, safe deployments
• Champion Infrastructure-as-Code practices with Terraform
• Automate workflows with scripting to reduce toil
• Drive capacity planning and performance improvements
• Document systems and best practices for reliability
• Mentor and share knowledge across the team
