Job summary

Barclays is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer for Identity Services in Whippany, NJ. You will apply software engineering and automation to ensure reliability, availability, and performance of a mission-critical identity platform serving millions worldwide.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or Platform Engineering with production systems.
• Deep knowledge in AWS and Azure, including Infrastructure as Code (CloudFormation) and container orchestration.
• Experience driving production reliability with SLOs, incident response, and automation.
• Proficiency in Python, Bash, Go or similar languages to automate operations.
• Ability to mentor and lead across engineering teams to improve reliability.

Responsibilities

• Ensure availability, performance, and scalability of identity services.
• Lead incident response, triage outages, and coordinate RCAs and post-mortems.
• Develop tools and scripts to automate operational processes.
• Collaborate with development teams to embed reliability into SDLC.
• Contribute to observability and monitoring strategy across platforms.
