Tulip, the Somerville-based leader in AI-native frontline operations, is seeking a senior Observability Engineer to drive reliability and metrics across the stack. You will design and maintain infrastructure using Kubernetes, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, and related tools, while guiding teams toward robust SLA/SLI practices.

The role emphasizes mentoring, incident response, and collaboration with Engineering, Edge, DevOps, and Hardware to strengthen Tulip's AI-driven platform.

Qualifications

• Experience with distributed systems observability and metrics pipelines.
• Ability to iterate on AI processes like Claude Skills.
• Strong knowledge of time-series data and promQL.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and evangelize on observability best practices, SLIs/SLOs, and reliability culture across engineering teams.
• Contributing to and maintaining Tulip's triage & remediation processes as a player / coach.
• Perform incident response and debug production issues across the entire stack.
• Design, build, and maintain the core infrastructure & tooling used by all of Tulip’s engineering teams.
