Job summary

Autodesk is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to help build and operate reliable GovCloud cloud services. You will partner with product engineering, security, and platform teams to enable production readiness and scalable operations.

The role emphasizes automation-first approaches, SLO/SLI definitions, incident management, and observability across multiple production services in restricted environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in Site Reliability/Software/Platform Engineering or related
• Experience operating customer-facing production services in large-scale cloud environments.
• Strong understanding of SLOs/SLIs, observability, incident management, capacity planning, and automation.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or other public clouds; automation using Python/Go/Java/Bash.
• Knowledge of IaC, CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and modern cloud ops.

Responsibilities

• Own reliability, availability, performance, operability and capacity of one or more production services.
• Deploy, operate, maintain and continuously improve services in GovCloud environments.
• Partner with engineering teams to design for reliability, scalability and security.
• Define and operate reliability practices: SLOs/SLIs, error budgets, production readiness, and post-incident reviews.
• Build automation to improve deployment safety, incident response and recovery.
• Develop tooling to enhance reliability and efficiency of production systems.
• Implement monitoring, logging, tracing and observability across services.
• Lead or participate in incident response, root cause analysis and blameless postmortems.
• Maintain runbooks, playbooks and recovery procedures.
• Scale resilience testing and gameday exercises to validate readiness.
• Eliminate toil through automation and process improvements.
• Ensure GovCloud services meet Autodesk security, privacy and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation.
• Contribute to establishing mature operational excellence practices.
