Job summary

Apple, Inc. in Seattle, WA, is seeking a Service Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join the Apple Services Engineering team. You will configure, tune, and fix multi-tiered systems to achieve optimal performance, stability and availability.

The role involves managing jobs on bare-metal and cloud platforms to support Apple’s data processing for its global services. The position emphasizes hands-on engineering, automation, and on-call experience, with collaboration across large, distributed teams.

Qualifications

5+ years in an SRE/DevOps role.
BS in CS or equivalent with 5+ years or MS with 3+ years, or equivalent.
5+ years running services in a large-scale Unix environment.
Understanding of SRE principles with on-call experience.
Extensive experience managing applications on AWS & Kubernetes.
Deep experience with Hadoop, Spark, Flink, Kubernetes, AWS.

Responsibilities

Support Java-based apps & Spark/Flink jobs on Baremetal, AWS & Kubernetes.
Assess requirements and design right service topology on AWS, Baremetal & Kubernetes.
Build automation for self-healing systems.
Develop tools to monitor high performance and low-latency apps.
Troubleshoot app, network, system & performance issues.
Participate in fast-paced projects delivering innovative solutions.
Monitor multiple environments in an agile organization.
