Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Site Reliability Engineer for its Federal SRE team to design and operate secure cloud services. You will lead automation efforts, build scalable network solutions, and collaborate with engineers and product teams to improve reliability and velocity for federal customers.

The role requires a broad set of cloud networking skills, security clearances, and experience with DoD/compliance frameworks, plus a passion for relentless automation and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with full scope poly and ability to obtain compliance approvals.
• Experience navigating Federal/DoD compliance, FedRAMP IL6, and SC2S/C2S familiarity.
• 8+ years in a Cloud Network Engineer or related role with AWS networking knowledge.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, VPC design, firewalls, DNS, WAFs, and load balancing.
• Automation experience with Terraform; scripting with Bash, Python, or Go; Git proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, reliable network solutions with multiple teams.
• Maintain a highly available edge infrastructure for Okta's identity platform.
• Analyze data to identify root causes for network events and automate improvements.
• Automate AWS infrastructure using Terraform and related tools.
