Job summary

Tech Mirrors is seeking a senior SRE Engineer for a contract role based in Jersey City, NJ or Wilmington, DE. You will design, implement, and maintain scalable infrastructure, define SLIs/SLOs/SLAs, and lead incident responses to improve reliability across systems.

You will build observability with monitoring, logging, and tracing; automate toil; optimize performance and costs; and collaborate with development teams to advance CI/CD and disaster recovery practices.

Qualifications

10+ years in Site Reliability, DevOps, or Infra Engineering.
Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java).
Deep Linux/Unix and networking fundamentals.
Hands-on with Docker and Kubernetes.
Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, etc.).
Strong knowledge of monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
Solid understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.

Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure and services
Define and enforce SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs for critical systems
Lead incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and postmortems
Build and improve observability systems (monitoring, logging, tracing)
Automate repetitive operational tasks and reduce manual toil
Optimize system performance, cost, and scalability
Collaborate with development teams to improve system reliability and deployment processes
Drive reliability best practices across the engineering organization
Manage and improve CI/CD pipelines and release engineering processes
Ensure high availability and disaster recovery strategies are in place and tested
