SRE Engineer (W2)

Location: Jersey City, NJ (Onsite)

Type: 6 Months Contract to Hire

Job Description

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer with robust development and operations experience. Candidates will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable systems and working closely with development teams to ensure seamless delivery.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software using multiple technologies and design techniques.
  • Work within Agile frameworks, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and continuous improvement.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate tests, and integrate deployment workflows using tools such as Jenkins, Git/BitBucket, and Jira.
  • Apply practices such as Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery, Test Driven Development, cloud development, application resilience, and security.
  • Ensure high availability through clustering, failover, and network concepts including latency, load balancing, and firewalls.
  • Design data architecture, data modeling, and database solutions with Oracle or SQL Server.
  • Implement observability with monitoring, alerting, and telemetry using Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, and Splunk.
  • Automate toil via system engineering or automation to improve service level indicators and alerting solutions.
  • Collaborate with third‑party applications and integrations.
  • Develop reporting, business intelligence, and visualizations using Tableau, PowerBI, Cognos, etc.
  • Participate in functional, user acceptance, and performance testing.
  • Acquire deep knowledge of business processes and technology impacts.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience with server‑based operating systems such as Windows 2016/2019 or Red Hat Linux/Unix.
  • 5+ years with database systems such as Oracle and SQL Server.
  • Proficiency in at least one general‑purpose programming language.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies.
  • Knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
  • Experience with high‑availability clusters, failover, and networking concepts.
  • Hands‑on experience with observability practices—monitoring, SLO alerting, telemetry collection.
  • Experience working with CI/CD, Git, and Jira.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Pay Range

$60,000 – $65,000 per year.
