Job summary

HiveWatch, Inc. is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our Platform Team in El Segundo, CA. You will build and operate edge infrastructure, ensuring performance, reliability, and observability across our distributed SaaS platform.

Responsibilities include on-call rotation, root-cause analysis, automation, and CI/CD maintenance. Ideal candidates have strong AWS, Terraform/Terragrunt, Kubernetes, and observability tool experience.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production environments
• 3+ years in SRE, DevOps, or production operations
• Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and containerized apps (Docker, Kubernetes)
• IaC experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar
• Proficiency in an object oriented language (Java, Kotlin, Python)
• Hands-on experience with relational databases and SQL performance optimization
• Experience with monitoring/observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, DataDog)
• Strong debugging skills across distributed systems and microservices
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Improve reliability of production systems including monitoring, alerting, and capacity planning
• Debug and resolve complex production issues across the stack
• Participate in on-call rotation for 24/7 coverage
• Perform root cause analysis and implement preventive measures
• Build automation and tooling to reduce operational toil
• Maintain CI/CD pipelines and observability infrastructure
• Increase resiliency, scalability, and maintainability of production environments
• Maintain on-call procedures and disaster recovery processes
• Contribute to on-call runbooks, postmortems, and reliability best practices
