Job summary

OpenTeams is seeking a SRE/DevSecOps Engineer to build and own a secure delivery pipeline for an AI/ML platform in highly controlled environments.

You will own the supply chain end to end—signed releases, SBOMs, vulnerability scanning, policy enforcement, and RMF-aligned evidence. This hybrid/remote role may require up to 15% travel to government facilities, with active TS/SCI clearance strongly preferred or eligibility to obtain it.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance.
• 6+ years of experience in DevSecOps, site reliability engineering, platform engineering, or production operations.
• 3+ years of experience supporting DoD/IC or regulated programs.
• Hands-on experience packaging or promoting software into classified, air-gapped, or limited-connectivity environments.
• Strong Kubernetes and cloud operations experience, including AWS production workloads.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices for regulated environments, including hardened containers, SBOMs, vulnerability management, and monitoring.
• Experience with Risk Management Framework or similar security/compliance framework.
• Scripting/automation with Python, Bash, Go, or similar.
• IaC experience with Terraform/Helm or equivalent tools.
• Experience implementing production observability stacks and incident response.
• DoD 8140/8570 cert (e.g., CISSP/CASP) or ability to obtain within 90 days.
• Bachelor’s degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the CI/CD pipeline that produces versioned, signed release packages with SBOMs and hardened images.
• Execute the promotion cadence through government-approved transfer mechanisms and verify environment parity.
• Integrate vulnerability management, image signing, dependency scanning, and continuous monitoring into the pipeline.
• Collaborate with security engineers to align outputs with RMF evidence and review requirements.
• Define and track service level objectives and build monitoring, logging, and alerting using Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
• Lead incident response and conduct postmortems to closure.
• Maintain sanitized defect and telemetry feedback pathways to reproduce and fix production issues when the full toolchain is available.
• Enforce dependency constraints and gate development-only dependencies behind feature flags.
• Maintain deployment runbooks, validation procedures, and government-review-ready documentation.
