Job summary

Loft Orbital is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to scale our ground segment infrastructure in a hybrid cloud setting. You will collaborate with satellite operators and developers to deliver reliable, automated systems and tooling, advancing CI/CD, IaC, and deployment workflows.

You’ll own observability and performance tuning across Grafana/Prometheus/Loki stacks, and help architect SDN solutions for space operations.

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating public cloud infrastructure (preferably GCP).
• Expertise in Kubernetes architecture, deployment, ops, and resource optimization.
• Proven ability to design scalable, highly available systems.
• Hands-on experience with SDN concepts and tools.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with developers and satellite operators to foster a SatDevOps culture.
• Design, implement, and maintain scalable, reliable infrastructure in a hybrid cloud environment.
• Improve developer experience with better tools, workflows, and environments.
• Lead automation of CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and deployment workflows.
• Own and evolve observability stack (metrics, tracing, logs) including Grafana/Prometheus.
• Advocate for reliability, fault tolerance, and performance tuning.
• Identify and resolve system reliability issues with root-cause analyses.
• Partner to design and operate Software Defined Networking solutions.
