Job summary

Alpen Labs is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to design, scale, and ensure the reliability of Alpen’s core infrastructure. You’ll own AWS-based systems, lead Kubernetes operations, and drive infrastructure as code with Terraform in a global, distributed environment.

You’ll collaborate with engineering, security, and platform teams to set SLOs/SLIs, improve incident response, and mentor engineers. This role is based in the United States and requires a strong DevOps mindset.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in SRE, DevOps or related roles.
• Deep expertise with AWS, Kubernetes and Terraform in production.
• Hands-on observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki and alerts.
• Led infrastructure or reliability projects.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking and Linux.
• Experience in globally distributed, asynchronous teams.
• Based in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain highly available AWS infrastructure.
• Lead Kubernetes operations for production systems.
• Own infrastructure as code with Terraform.
• Maintain observability with Prometheus, Grafana, Loki.
• Define SLIs, SLOs and error budgets.
• Lead incident response and postmortems.
• Drive CI/CD automation and safer releases.
• Mentor engineers across time zones.
