Job summary

Peraton seeks a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE3) to design and implement automation for large-scale distributed systems in a mission-critical environment. You will blend software development with sysadmin skills to reduce risk, minimize human error, and enhance operational visibility.

You will lead tool development for monitoring and incident response, leveraging cloud-based architectures and postmortem processes to improve reliability and efficiency across teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years relevant experience.
• Master's Degree with 10+ years relevant experience.
• PhD with 7+ years relevant experience.
• Active TS/SCI with current polygraph.
• AWS and/or Elastic certifications listed.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automation solutions for large-scale distributed systems.
• Develop software tools to support monitoring and system administration teams.
• Provide technical direction for development, integration, and testing of hardware/software systems.
• Manage and monitor large cloud-based environments.
• Conduct postmortem analysis and support incident management processes.
• Improve operational processes and system health visibility.
• Support distributed, massively parallel data environments.
