Job summary

U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator to administer and optimize SQL Server databases across on-premises, Azure, and AWS. The role focuses on HA/DR design, security, and performance in production and non-production environments.

You will lead incident response, collaborate with DevOps and security teams, and mentor engineers while ensuring regulatory compliance and disaster recovery readiness. This role requires three+ days on-site at a U.S. Bank location.

Qualifications

• Must have strong hands-on experience administering Microsoft SQL Server in large-scale, enterprise environments.
• Experience managing SQL Server deployments on-premises, Azure, and AWS.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, migrations, and environment management.

Responsibilities

• Administer, maintain, and optimize Microsoft SQL Server databases across on-premises, Azure, and AWS cloud environments.
• Design, implement, and support HA and DR solutions including Always On, Failover Clustering, Replication, and Log Shipping.
• Perform installations, configurations, patching, upgrades, migrations, and lifecycle management for prod and non-prod environments.
• Monitor health, availability, capacity, and performance; proactively resolve issues to ensure stability.
• Lead production incident response, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
• Partner with development, infrastructure, DevOps, and security teams to support deployments, releases, and cloud modernization.
• Manage backup, recovery, business continuity, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Drive automation, governance, and security compliance while mentoring engineers.
• This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
