3 Reasons Consulting, LLC is seeking a skilled Senior SQL Server Database Developer to support the Naval Health Research Center (NHRC) in managing and optimizing mission-critical databases.

The ideal candidate will have extensive SQL development experience, performance tuning, and knowledge of SSDT, ADS, SQLCMD, PowerShell, and Visual Studio, with the ability to translate requirements into robust data solutions for health research initiatives.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server including database creation, maintenance, troubleshooting, stored procedures, indexing, and performance tuning.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, cybersecurity, data science, information systems, or computer science is preferred.
• Must reside in the San Diego, CA area.

Responsibilities

• Utilize SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT), Azure Data Studio (ADS), DTA, SQLCMD, PowerShell, and Visual Studio for SQL development.
• Install, configure, and maintain SQL databases.
• Monitor performance with SSMS, DMVs, SQL Server Diagnostics, and Profiler.
• Focus on performance tuning, troubleshooting, and reliability optimization.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical/data requirements.
• Develop multidimensional and tabular models with SSAS for research missions.
• Create interactive reports with SSRS and other tools.
• Ensure compliance with change management and documentation during development and upgrades.
• Provide expertise in database creation, queries, and maintenance.
• Work with users and IT teams to ensure database reliability.
