Senior SQL Server Developer/ Database Architect - SME

We are hiring 2–3 Senior SQL Server Developers to support a critical initiative within a large-scale enterprise in the financial services sector.

Job Title: Senior SQL Server Developer (Remote)

Work Hours: Standard Eastern Time (ET) business hours

Preferred Candidates: Georgia or Florida residents

This role involves hands-on analysis and rewriting of SQL queries for performance enhancement. It is suitable for experienced developers with deep knowledge of SQL Server internals, query optimization, execution plans, and performance bottlenecks.

You will work closely with a SQL Server performance SME with over a decade at Microsoft, emphasizing strong fundamentals and practical experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Optimize SQL queries for performance, scalability, and efficiency.
• Refactor and rewrite complex SQL queries to improve performance.
• Design and implement scalable database architectures.
• Identify and resolve inefficient code to enhance performance without altering business logic.

Required Experience:

• 7+ years in SQL Server development and administration
• 5+ years specializing in SQL Server performance tuning and internals
• Expertise with SQL Server optimizer, execution plans, indexing, and diagnosing issues like latching and blocking
• Experience working in high-parallel query environments
• Knowledge of SQL operating system components, thread scheduling, and the optimizer
