Job summary

Maximus is seeking a Senior SQL Server Database Administrator. This role is remote with periodic in-person meetings in Bethesda, MD and requires the ability to obtain Public Trust suitability.

The candidate will manage SQL Server databases, implement high availability, backup/recovery, and performance tuning across on-premises and cloud environments. Required 5+ years of SQL Server administration, strong T-SQL skills, and experience with clustered architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SQL Server database administration experience.
• Experience with standalone and clustered SQL Server architecture on Windows, on premises and in cloud.
• Ability to obtain Public Trust suitability.

Responsibilities

• Implement modular installation and configuration for production and non-production environments with a DevOps mindset.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities for compute, storage, and cloud resources.
• Troubleshoot complex database issues and apply fixes.
• Lead database deployments, upgrades, and approved changes.
• Provide guidance, coaching, and training to other employees as needed.
