Job summary

Aderant is seeking a Principal Database Administrator to lead SQL Server architecture, HA/DR, and multi-tenant replication across Sierra cloud operations. You will own design decisions, mentor the DBA team, and directly engage client-side DBAs for complex data integration and go-live activities.

The role emphasizes independent architectural judgment, strong T-SQL/SSMS skills, and a track record of delivering resilient database platforms at cloud scale.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of hands-on SQL Server DBA experience with principal/lead responsibilities.
• Deep expertise in Always On AGs and Distributed AGs, including failover and topology.
• Strong T-SQL, SSMS, SQL Server Agent, and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with MSSQL on AWS/Azure and DBA automation using PowerShell/Ansible.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for SQL Server ops, HA, DR, and replication across Sierra.
• Escalation point for complex incidents, leading root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Architectural tradeoffs decisions and proactive risk identification.
• Design, configure, and maintain Always On AGs and DAGs across the tenant fleet.
• Own CDC lifecycle management and go-live cutovers.
• Directly engage client-side DBAs on data integration, migration and cutover activities.
• Monitor and tune database performance at scale.
• Ensure security, integrity, and availability across tenants.
• Build automation for routine maintenance tasks (PowerShell/Ansible).
• Create architecture-level documentation, standards, and procedures for the DBA team.
• Collaborate on service delivery within a global operations team.
