Job summary

Contact Government Services (CGS) seeks a Senior Database Administrator to manage Microsoft SQL Server environments, including replication, backups, and BI services. The role focuses on performance, reliability, and security across virtualized infrastructure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years relevant experience related directly to SQL Server Database Administration.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments concurrently.
• Experience with VMware and Microsoft Hyper-V.
• Experience with source/change control, bug tracking, SDLC, and integration of Relational Databases.
• Ability to appropriately handle confidential and/or sensitive materials.
• Comfort with and willingness to work in groups and individually on both large and small projects.
• Ability to document, explain, and present any task related to decisions and processes.

Responsibilities

• Administer SQL Server including Replication, Backup/Restore, SSRS, SSAS, SSIS.
• Migrate databases from SQL Server 2012 to 2016.
• Provide systems administration support for hardware/software.
• Recommend and implement SQL performance monitoring and tuning.
• Implement and support Microsoft technologies (Visual Studio, VB.NET, ASP.NET, Web Services).
• Support visualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, create VMs.
• Perform backups according to policies including daily incremental and weekly full backups.
• Monitor databases, space management, and extend hours of support as needed.
