Job summary

StarTekk invites an experienced Database Administrator to join the Lansing, MI data team. The role focuses on SQL Server and Azure database services, ETL development, and data modeling aligned with CEPI and CEDS standards.

The candidate will design pipelines, ensure data integrity, and support cloud migration initiatives while collaborating with developers and business stakeholders. Local candidates only, onsite Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Qualifications

• 12+ years of overall IT experience.
• 8–10 years of T-SQL experience.
• 6–8 years of ETL development experience.
• 5 years of PowerShell experience.
• 5 years of Azure DevOps experience.
• 5 years of Scrum / Agile experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
• Experience with data warehousing, database performance tuning, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, loading, preparation, analysis, and reporting.
• Provide SQL Server database administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical database models, data dictionaries, and relational database structures.
• Create and manage database objects using T-SQL, DDL, and DCL.
• Support database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor and maintain SQL Server infrastructure across Development, QA, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
• Support the migration and modernization of on-premises ETL processes to cloud-based Azure environments.
• Collaborate with developers, business teams, and stakeholders to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Provide technical expertise in data modeling, database architecture, and CEDS standards.
