Job summary

StarTekk seeks an experienced Database Administrator 4 to support the CEPI database environment, focusing on the SLDS modernization aligned with CEDS. The ideal candidate will excel in Microsoft SQL Server DBA work, Azure database services, SQL data modeling, and ETL development.

This onsite role requires local Michigan residency within 90–100 miles of Lansing and onsite from Day 1 with mandatory Wednesday and Thursday on-site days. C2C candidates are welcome.

Qualifications

• 12+ years overall IT experience.
• 8–10 years T-SQL experience.
• 6–8 years ETL development experience.
• 5 years PowerShell experience.
• 5 years Azure DevOps experience.
• 5 years Scrum / Agile experience.
• Strong experience with Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
• Experience with data warehousing, database performance tuning, and data modeling.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, maintain, and optimize data pipelines and ETL processes.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, loading, preparation, analysis, and reporting.
• Provide SQL Server database administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
• Develop and maintain logical and physical database models, data dictionaries, and relational database structures.
• Create and manage database objects using T- SQL, DDL, and DCL.
• Support database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Monitor and maintain SQL Server infrastructure across Development, QA, Pre-Production, and Production environments.
• Support the migration and modernization of on-premises ETL processes to cloud-based Azure environments.
• Collaborate with developers, business teams, and stakeholders to ensure data integrity and quality.
• Provide technical expertise in data modeling, database architecture, and CEDS standards.
